survey

Survey says

We discovered that most of our January survey respondents consider themselves ‘medium green,’ with 77% embracing sustainability in their daily life. Top reasons that respondents signed up with Brighter Planet were combating climate change, offsetting carbon footprints, investing in community-based climate solutions, and trustworthiness. Benefits to public health / water quality and independent third party verification were rated highest in customer evaluations of offset projects. We'll post complete results on our blog next week.

one day campaign website

One day closer to carbon neutrality

This holiday season, we gave gifts of one day of carbon neutrality. In return, we asked recipients to conserve with our top 12 list of money and carbon-saving tips. Over 5,000 people claimed their gift over a three week period, including Al Gore’s The Climate Project who offset their US-based presenters for a day.  The Climate Project volunteers have reached over 4 million people worldwide to raise awareness about climate change and offer potential solutions.

footprints

That's a lot of footprints

Thank you to 100,000 Brighter Planet community members who have offset 75 million pounds of CO2 through engaging Web-based campaigns and the Brighter Planet Visa® credit and Check cards. That's the equivalent of shutting down all the power plants in the U.S. for seven minutes, removing 13 million bags of rotting trash in landfills, or 73,000 people not driving their cars for a month!
