Water and climate change

Here at Brighter Planet, we are building an innovative partnership network across the for-profit/non-profit divide to confront climate change and reduce human impact on the environment. One of our partners, Center for New American Dream, recently launched Break the Bottled Water Habit. The person who gets the most people to sign up for the pledge will win Brighter Planet’s Live, Learn, Experience Climate Change Prize. The prize includes a commuter bike, essential sustainability books, and a trip for two to Glacier National Park.

Video contest update

Over 100 videographers submitted their entries to our Climate Matters: Inspire Your Next President video contest! Check out the talent and technique, ranging from ecological stories in stop motion animation to White House garden plans, and let us know what you think.

Our distinguished panel of judges is now voting on the 16 most-viewed videos. Winning criteria are creativity, coherence of message, potential impact of message on political leaders, and inspiring message. Winning videos will be broadcast to over 50 million homes via our broadcast partners, highlighted in a national press release, shown at Global Exchanges' film festival, and distributed to every member of Congress and both presidential campaigns. The 1st-place video will receive a Brighter Planet™ Visa® Gift Card prize of $3,000, 2nd and 3rd place will walk away with $1000 and $500 gift cards.
